The project entailed a number of meetings with residents of localities in the vicinity of Buskett, namely Rabat and Dingli.
The scope of these meetings was to introduce the LIFE Saving Buskett project to these important local stakeholders by showing the pre-project situation and explaining how the proposed interventions contribute to the conservation objectives of the Natura 2000 site .
The meetings also delved into the merits of what is a Natura 2000 site and the socio-economic benefits of such sites, with particular emphasis on the Buskett-Girgenti Natura 2000 site.
The meetings were concluded with a short questionnaire and discussions over some refreshments.
The first meetings were held on 16/04/2015 and 15/05/2015.
