Action E8: Meeting with local stakeholders – farmers

As part of the project, a number of meetings were held with farmers who use the fields and/or farms in the environs of the project site.

A short interview was held to determine the size of their agricultural holdings, the intensity and type of farming activities undertaken, and the main access points to their land.

This was followed by a brief overview of the LIFE Saving Buskett project while distributing information and promotional materials.

A quick assessment was made on the possibility for the farmers to carry out similar activities to complement the aims of the project, such as repair of soil retaining walls, removal of invasive alien species and planting of indigenous trees.

The farmers were also invited to visit the project site to observe the works undertaken.
