Action E9: Project awareness activities (2014)

Public awareness is an integral part of the project aimed at increasing education and communicating the project objectives. Our educator, Mr Neville Ebejer, is the officer in charge to carry out our dissemination activities and regularly conducts organised and spontaneous tours around Buskett.

This action aims to make visitors aware of the importance of conserving our extant woodlands by restoring and maintaining soil retaining walls and why invasive alien species need to be removed. The visits are sometimes coupled with a commemorative tree planting activity.

Although initially these activities were planned to be restricted to the Buskett area, our public awareness activities were extended to schools, homes for the elderly and public events.
